"Hameau du Soleil", situated in a child-friendly and peaceful area, 12 miles from Sarlat, is an old farm on 5 acres of private land where two of the buildings have been transformed into five beautiful cottages. The original stone and beamed cottages are decorated in a French style and fitted out with all possible comforts. The cottage 'La Petite Maison' have a living room, fitted dining kitchen with dishwasher, washingmachine, gascooker, micro-wave, fridge and coffeemachine. Upstairs three bedrooms, twp with double bed and one with bunk beds. Shower, toilet and hand basin. All cottages have satellite T.V. and a sunny terras with sittingcorner and barbecue.
The large, non-chlorinated swimming-pool, is centrally situated with panoramic views. The surroundings are spaceous with sun loungers, parasols, plus a shower and changing room. We have also space for sports: volleyball, badminton and table tennis. For the children we have a play-area with swings, sandbox and a climbing frame.
For people who like to be close to nature, there is plenty to offer. There is much woodland to wander about in, caves, ruins, and wonderful little villages to explore. After all that, a nice cooling swim in the river on one of the many beaches that can be found along its banks. Or an expedition into the hills to enjoy the panoramic views and traffic free lanes.
Nearly every town and large village has a market day, during which local produce can be bought for the evening meals. If cooking is not your idea of a holiday, then here is an easy access to the regional cuisine at "Hameau du Soleil". There is also an impressive list of restaurants within a reasonable radius.
On the recreational and cultural side, the area offers much. There are riding stables, tennis courts, golf courses and canoes that can be hired to spend an afternoon floating peaceably down the river Dordogne.
To the north there is Sarlat, a modern bustling town with a medieval centre, animated by its Saturday market without comparison and many cultural festivals and expositions. And whilst in the area, why not visit Lascaux and see the prehistoric paintings and the superb underground villages in and around Les Eyzies.
